Arsenal were taken apart by Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday night, losing 5-1 in Germany.

Here, we look at how Twitter reacted as Arsene Wenger's men fell four behind until Olivier Giroud grabbed a consolation, but then shipped an embarrassing fifth.

"Bloody hell. Bayern are good!" - Gary Lineker points out the obvious.

"2-0. Arsenal are as dysfunctional as my dongle tonight. #afc" - Piers Morgan's woes are compounded by internet problems.

"It's days like this when people realise I've actually been right about Wenger & KP all along" - but Morgan still revels in old friend Kevin Pietersen scoring a hundred and Arsene Wenger struggling.

"4-0. This is already embarrassing, and heading inexorably towards abject humiliation. #afc" - more tears for Piers.

"Injuries I know, but it's men against boys tonight in the first half in Munich #BAYvAFC" - Alan Shearer on Arsenal's first half.

"We're gonna win 5-4 !" - No you're not, Ian Wright.

"It's fair to say we knew they were capable of this from the first game!! #qualityteam" - Ex-Gunner David Seaman knew what was coming after Arsenal won the reverse game.
