Hodgson - Losing Brede would be huge

07 August 2009 14:08
Fulham manager Roy Hodgson admits losing Brede Hangeland to Arsenal would be an "enormous blow" for the club. Hangeland is being considered by Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger as a potential replacement for Kolo Toure, who was sold to Manchester City. Arsenal have made no official contact regarding the Norway international and Hodgson is hopeful Wenger decides against picking up the telephone. But Hodgson knows Fulham would have to seriously consider any big-money offer for the centre-back. "It is a source of worry if a bigger club is interested because Brede is an important player," said Hodgson. "He is one of our key figures and if we lost a key figure it would be an enormous blow for us. "There is a long way to go before that happens. First they have to contact the club and we would have to make sure any deal suits us all."
