Hleb set for Barca medical

Arsenal midfielder Alex Hleb is on the verge of joining Barcelona after the Spanish club revealed he will undergo a medical on Wednesday.

The Belarus international has been linked with the Catalan club throughout the summer and could officially complete his move within the next 24 hours.

Hleb moved closer to the exit door at the Emirates Stadium last week after launching a verbal attack on manager Arsene Wenger and midfield team-mate Cesc Fabregas.

He suggested Wenger would be happy to see him leave and accused Fabregas of being selfish.

Hleb, who joined from Stuttgart in an £11milion deal in 2005, has made over 125 appearances for the north London club.

The 27-year-old midfielder is expected to cost Barcelona around £12million.
