Henry should have been punched by cheated Irish, suggests Eric Cantona

Manchester United hero Eric Cantona has sensationally suggested he would have punched Thierry Henry if he was Irish, after the striker's infamous handball set up France's winning goal in their 2-1 aggregate play-off win over the Republic of Ireland.

The Old Trafford idol lambasted the ex-Arsenal ace over his attitude following the controversial World Cup victory in Paris.

'What shocked me most wasn't the handball, honestly,' said Cantona.

The former French international slammed national coach Raymond Domenech on Friday following France'scontroversial qualification for the 2010 finals in South Africa.

'I think that Raymond Domenech is the worst coach in French footballsince Louis XVI,' added Cantona, referring to the French king who wasexecuted by revolutionaries in 1793 and is commonly depicted as anindecisive, dithering monarch.
