Jump at the chance: Redknapp is a fan of Diarra[LNB]Harry Redknapp admits that a deal to bring Real Madrid midfielder Lassana Diarra to Tottenham is fraught with difficulty. [LNB]Sportsmail were the first to reveal that Spurs were keen to take the France international on loan, but Madrid would prefer to do a permanent deal and cash in for about £8.5million. [LNB]Redknapp knows the midfielder well from their time working together at Portsmouth, but the White Hart Lane boss tried to play down the chances of doing a deal.[LNB] 'I like Diarra,' said Redknapp. 'I signed him and had him at Portsmouth, but it would be a difficult one, financially for us. He's on big, big wages at Real Madrid. [LNB] 'We haven't made an approach but I think his agent has rung up and spoken to my chief scout but it's not gone any further than that. If they do want to get rid of him it would be difficult to do a deal.' [LNB]Redknapp also played down the chances of signing Everton midfielder Steven Pienaar in a deal that would see Peter Crouch go the other way. [LNB]The boss is an admirer of the South Africa captain and a number of clubs have been alerted to Crouch's potential availability, but Redknapp insisted: 'Peter Crouch is not for sale. He won't be going anywhere. [LNB]'He's a fantastic player. He played up front alone at Stoke because we were struggling. Crouchie hasn't got a price on his head. He's not going anywhere if we want to move this club forward.[LNB] 'Pienaar's a great player but he's an Everton player. I've never spoken to David Moyes about him.'  [LNB] Jermain Defoe desperate to play prime-time football as Spurs striker sets sights on Champions League group stageSign up to our FREE Fantasy Football game - with £40,000 in prize money up for grabsEverton to use Pienaar as makeweight in deal to sign Tottenham's CrouchSpurs are just champion!
