Hangeland expects to stay
Brede Hangeland admits he was flattered by Arsenal's interest but says he fully expects to stay at Fulham.
The 28-year-old Norway defender has been linked with a move to The Gunners for some time and Arsene Wenger revealed earlier this month that he is under consideration.
However, while Hangeland was happy to hear about Wenger's interest, he says he is now keen to put the speculation to bed and focus on Fulham.
"I'm not going to sit here and lie - you do think about these things," he told VG.
"I thought about it a lot when I was with the national team, when there was a lot of talk.
"I don't see anything happening now. I would be surprised.
"All indications are that I will stay. It has actually always been that way.
"There are probably a lot of people who are sick of seeing me in the newspapers and I'm one of them."
Meanwhile, Hangeland says he is happy to see Damien Duff at Craven Cottage but is eager to see Fulham bolster the squad further.
"We have a good team, but we could do with more players," he said.
"We can't rely on having the same luck with injuries that we had last season."
Hangeland was also pleased to see Norway team-mate Bjorn Helge Riise join the club, but he feels it will take the former Lillestrom man time to adapt to English football.
"It's all about getting used to playing at this level as quickly as possible," he said.
"He has really impressed me so far in training and he has a great mentality. If he continues like this, it's just a matter of time before he is comfortable with the level."
