Gunners wait on injured trio
18 Aug 2009 - 08:03:43
Arsenal are sweating on the fitness of three players ahead of Tuesday evening's Champions League play-off encounter with Celtic.
Skipper Cesc Fabregas and midfield colleague Denilson plus full-back Bacary Sagna are all fitness doubts ahead of the first leg at Parkhead.
Fabregas and Denilson picked up hamstring and groin problems respectively during Saturday's 6-1 rout of Everton in the Premier League in which they both scored.
Defender Sagna was also troubled by an injury problem despite playing the full 90 minutes at Goodison Park.
"Sagna has a knock and we will make a decision on him tomorrow," revealed Gunners boss Arsene Wenger on Tuesday evening.
"We have some uncertainties about Fabregas and Denilson as well."
Meanwhile, Wenger is hopeful that midfielder Abou Diaby will recover from a groin niggle.
However, England winger Theo Walcott will again miss out with a back problem.
