Gunners wait on Fabregas
29 Nov 2007 - 09:50:55
Arsenal are sweating over the fitness of Cesc Fabregas after he picked up a hamstring injury in the Champions League defeat by Sevilla.
Fabregas was forced off early in the second half of the Gunners' 3-1 defeat in Spain on Tuesday with reports suggesting he could be sidelined for up to three weeks.
That would make the ten-goal midfielder a major doubt for Arsenal's high-profile Premier League meeting with Chelsea on December 16.
The 20-year-old would also miss the forthcoming games against Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Middlesbrough.
Speaking about the injury, he said: "I felt my hamstring in the first half. I kept going but I felt it again in the second half.
"It's the first time in my life I have felt this and I didn't want to take a risk."
