Gunners step up Nasri chase

21 May 2008 05:35
The agent of Marseille's highly-rated youngster Samir Nasri claims Arsenal have made an offer for the 20-year-old Frenchman. Nasri only recently signed a long-term deal with the French side, but his agent, Jean-Pierre Bernes, insists the Gunners are in pole position to snap up his client before the start of next season. "We are not in a hurry," Bernes told southern French newspaper La Provence. "It is true that we are examining an offer from Arsenal, which is interesting for Samir Nasri from a sporting point of view. "But I have also received other offers." Nasri made four appearances during France's successful Euro 2008 qualifying campaign and has already played more than 100 matches for Marseille since making his first-team debut almost four years ago.
