Gunners on top to sink Serbians

Arsenal beat 10-man Partizan Belgrade 3-1 in Serbia to maintain their 100% start in Champions League Group H. After surviving a power failure which forced the team to change in the dark and an intense atmosphere during the opening exchanges, Andrey Arshavin fired the Gunners ahead on 15 minutes. Brazil-born striker Cleo levelled from the penalty spot but the hosts failed to build any momentum. Marko Jovanovic was sent off for hauling down Marouane Chamakh after the break but Arshavin missed the resulting penalty. It mattered not as Chamakh restored Arsenal`s lead before Sebastien Squillaci headed home to wrap up the points. There was also time for under-fire stand-in goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski to save a late penalty to deny Cleo.
