The Gunners got their season off to the best possible start at Goodison Park as they put in a thrilling performance. Their 6-1 mauling of the Toffees sent out a signal of intent to those who had written them off before a ball had been kicked. Arsene Wenger's men have no time to bask in the glory of their success on Merseyside, though, with a vital Champions League qualifier against Celtic scheduled for Tuesday. The North London outfit will face the Hoops in the imposing surroundings of Parkhead in the first leg of their continental clash and Vermaelen admits that game is the sole focus of the Gunners at present. "Of course the Everton result is good for our spirit but already we are looking towards Tuesday," the Belgium international told the Evening Standard. "We can be happy with this but now we have to be focused on qualifying for the Champions League. It is not going to be easy. "Celtic are a good team and we will have to be on top of our game to beat them. I joined Arsenal to play in the Champions League, it is important for every player and club to be there. "I don't know too much about Celtic but they have some good, physical players up front and I think it could be a similar match to Everton. "I think it will be similar to Goodison Park, with a fanatical crowd and we will have to play the same as we did against Everton. We will have to be physical again and also play our own game."
