Gunners assessing Fabregas injury

Arsene Wenger maintains it is too soon to speculate how long Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas will be sidelined by a hamstring problem. The Gunners skipper suffered the injury as he netted a freak goal at Sunderland on Saturday, the ball kicked into him by Anton Ferdinand and it looped back into the goal. Spain international Fabregas, 23, had just been finding his form having returned late after reaching the World Cup final. Wenger, though, cannot yet put a timeframe on Fabregas' likely recovery and is awaiting test results. Speaking to Arsenal TV Online ahead of their Carling Cup third-round tie at Tottenham, Wenger said: "We don't know yet. It is difficult to say. "He has a hamstring problem but, I can't tell how long he will be out for.Any speculation would be wrong today because we have not had the scan."
