Go now Arsene or you'll end up being hounded out by the hate mob - and you deserve better

Arsene Wenger may be admired, successful and a champion of attractive football but after nearly 13 years in charge at Arsenal it is time for him to go. The trust between the Frenchman and his club has broken down and there is only one way it can go from here. If Wenger stays at Arsenal his exit, when it eventually comes, will be undignified and unfitting. Going now doesn't exactly leave him departing on a high but if his position at the Emirates is allowed to fester, it will get a lot worse. Instant success is the only cure for Wenger's problems with fans and shareholders at Arsenal and, at the end of a season, it cannot be delivered. So patience will be wafer thin going into the next campaign and dissent doesn't dissipate, it builds. The idea of Wenger being the regular target of a hate mob just doesn't bear thinking about. Buying his way out of trouble is highly unlikely as the Arsenal boardtalk about having money available rather than actually spending it. Keeping hold of their best players could be even more of a problem in the current climate of uncertainty. But Wenger could easily go on to glory somewhere else, so why wait for an ignominious exit? Without the most successful manager in their history Arsenal may well struggle, but they seem to think they are doing that anyway.
