Arsenal midfielder Gilberto Silva is furious with the way he discovered that he had lost the captaincy of the team to William Gallas.
The Brazilian, who did not feature in Sunday's win against Fulham, found out he had been axed as club captain on the internet.
The 30-year-old said: "I was captain all last season when Thierry Henry didn't play and, after his move to Barcelona, I thought I would be captain this time.
"Arsene (Wenger) is the manager and it is his decision. Life goes on and I will get on with my job.
"But I was surprised that he didn't speak to me about his decision.
"He had the time to do it because I was at the training ground before it was made public.
"I found out that evening when I saw it on the Arsenal website. I wasn't upset about not being captain, but I was about the way I learned about it."
The midfielder has spent the last five years with the Gunners following his £4.5million transfer from Atletico Mineiro and has made 147 Premier League appearances for the club.
Meanwhile, Wenger is being linked with Blackburn midfielder Morten Gamst Pedersen.
