Gilberto Silva in no doubt Cesc Fabregas will join Barcelona

Gilberto Silva is sure that it is only a matter of time before his former Arsenal team-mate Cesc Fabregas ends up at Barcelona. The Brazil midfielder will play at the Nou Camp for the first time in a competitive match when his Panathinaikos side face Barca in the Champions League on Tuesday night, and he has no doubt that Fabregas will soon be at home in the same surroundings. Silva helped the Spain international come through the ranks in north London and was delighted to see the 23-year-old lift the World Cup this summer once Brazil had been dumped out by Holland in the quarter-final stage. Middle men: Fabregas and Gilberto played together in the Gunners engine room 'I was very happy for him,' said the 33-year-old. 'He is a great player and a good guy. I wish him well at Arsenal, but sooner or later he will return to Barcelona.' However, Silva believes another pair of fellow midfielders are more deserving of being recognised as the world's best player when the new FIFA Ballon d'Or is handed out at the end of the year. 'I think when you've won the World Cup, you deserve the Ballon d'Or, and personally I would be give it to Xavi or (Andres) Iniesta,' he said. Silva is enjoying his third season with Panathinaikos since leaving Arsenal in 2008 and is in talks to stay for a fourth year.  Arsenal 4 Bolton 1: It's 1000-0 to the Arsenal!
