Lille striker Gervinho insists he made the right choice in joining the Ligue 1 side in the summer. The 22-year-old former Le Mans forward courted interest from the likes of Arsenal and Atletico Madrid during the last transfer window but opted to stay in France, signing for Vahid Halilhodzic's outfit on a three-year deal. The Ivory Coast international has yet to command a regular starting berth, but after netting a brace in the Europa League win at Slavia Prague on Thursday, Gervinho is now focused on improving Lille's league form "We are very happy, we have to try to produce that in the league now," the striker, whose side are just one place above the relegation zone in Ligue 1, told skysports.com "For me it's very good, I have scored three goals in two Europa League games, that is fantastic. "I know there are teams interested in me and I will always try to improve. "I know the coach very well, when he thinks I am ready to be a starter, I will come and prove to him he was right. "At the moment I am waiting my time; my ambition is for the team to start taking chances in the league and start winning games."
