Arsenal have received a welcome boost with the news that William Gallas has returned to full fitness ahead of Saturday's FA Cup fifth round clash with Blackburn Rovers.
Gallas has been sidelined since injuring his thigh in training back in November.
The France international was expected to miss a large proportion of the season after suffering a series of setbacks, but could now play a part in the Gunners' Champions League campaign which resumes with a last 16 meeting with PSV Eindhoven next week.
"It's a big boost. I'm very happy to have him back," confirmed manager Arsene Wenger.
"I was worried for a while because his injury took much longer to recover than we expected."
Wenger could opt to hand Gallas an immediate start in place of the rested Kolo Toure, while Johan Djourou has been ruled out with a slight knee injury.
Philippe Senderos could also feature after returning from a two-match suspension.
