Arsenal could lose William Gallas on a free transfer this summer because of Arsene Wenger's strict policy of offering only one-year contract extensions to players over the age of 30.[LNB]Central defender Gallas, 32, will be a free agent this summer when his contract expires but is keen to remain at the Emirates Stadium and wants a two-year deal to stay.[LNB]But Wenger, who contemplated bending his usual rules on contract extensions to accomodate Gallas, has decided that an additional 12 months is the maximum he will offer the former Chelsea man.[LNB] Negotiations: William Gallas (left) wants a two-year deal to stay at Arsenal [LNB]Arsenal chairman Peter Hill-Wood revealed: 'Arsene has had a policy withplayers who are aged over 30 to offer them one-year extensions.[LNB] 'He has not asked us to make an exception for Gallas. If he did I am sure the board would agree to it. [LNB]'It is not out of the question, but it is certainly not on the table at the moment.'  [LNB]  The developments may tempt Gallas to cash in with a Bosman move either elsewhere in England or to the continent, possibly with AC Milan. [LNB]In the last few years Robert Pires and Jens Lehmann, both in their 30s, chose transfers to Villarreal and Stuttgart respectively after being refused more than one-year deals by Wenger.[LNB]By contrast, Gunners legend Dennis Bergkamp chose to remain with the club until the age of 37 despite only receiving annual one-year extensions.[LNB] Cesc Fabregas 'agrees deal' with Barcelona as fears heighten over Arsenal star's futureWe'll catch wounded Arsenal, says Liverpool skipper Steven GerrardBrazilian wonderkid Zezinho snubs Arsenal switch in favour of SantosARSENAL FC
