Gael Clichy implores Arsenal to emerge victorious from Old Trafford at all costs

Gael Clichy has urged Arsenal to win ugly if they have to in Monday night's clash against Manchester United.[LNB] Arsene Wenger's men sit top of the Barclays Premier League heading into the match knowing that a win would take them four points clear of United in third, and three ahead of second-placed Manchester City. [LNB]But Arsenal's last win at Old Trafford was in 2006 and they have waited even longer since their last piece of silverware - the Gunners won the FA Cup in 2005 - and Clichy insists that his side must win at all costs, and not just play pretty football.[LNB] Sitting pretty: Arsenal are top of the Premier League, a point clear of United[LNB] 'We know if we win this game we can go four points ahead of Man United,' he said. 'If we can, we will try to win this game by playing well but at the end of the day playing well and losing doesn't give you anything.[LNB] 'Okay, you are a good players and you play for a good side but if you can be four points ahead, that's all that matters. Whether it is 1-0 or 6-5 we just want to win and make our fans proud. We train hard every day and we will show we are up for the game.' [LNB]Arsenal's position at the top of the league has been achieved despite signs of defensive fragility, with some suggesting the Gunners will not be able to keep up their current pace with such an obvious weakness. [LNB] Weakest link: Despite their position at the league's summit, Arsenal's title credentials have been questioned due to their perceived problems in defence[LNB]But left back Clichy says the Gunners have a perfect opportunity to prove their title credentials at Old Trafford. 'We know that people doubt us but even if we are not playing our best football that we can we still manage to be there,' he said.[LNB] 'People can talk but the fact we are at the top - even by playing one game more than Man United - it shows we have been good enough. We don't want to think too much about it because the season doesn't finish after tonight - it finishes in May and that is it.[LNB] Happy days: Arsenal's last win at Old Trafford was in 2006 courtesy of a late goal scored by then Gunners striker Emmanuel Adebayor [LNB] 'We want to go there and win the three points. It would make a big difference for us with the game in hand they have.[LNB] 'I have been here for many years and I know how it is. When you don't win every game or try to be the best team, people want you to show that.[LNB] 'People would like you to win every game 6-0 but nowadays in the Premier League it is totally different. You can take a team in the bottom half of the table and they can match a team like Chelsea, Arsenal or Man United. That is English football and that is why we love it.' [LNB] Stop Nasri!
