Foxes hope to keep Gilbert

Leicester City are hoping to persuade on-loan defender Kerrea Gilbert to sign a permanent contract at the Walkers Stadium. Gilbert has spent the season on loan at Leicester from Arsenal and has made a total of 39 appearances for the League One champions. And, with promotion to the Championship secured, Foxes chief scout Steve Walsh confirmed the club will try to agree a deal for the 22-year-old. "We'd be more than delighted if he joined us and hopefully we can do something in the summer," Walsh told the Leicester Mercury. Good shapeThe Foxes have already agreed permanent deals for Wayne Brown and Jack Hobbs, with Walsh eager to unearth 'a diamond' over the summer. He added: "We need to supplement what we have with the odd nugget or diamond that we might find out there. "We've got to get a team together to have a go at the Championship with the chance of reaching the play-offs, or even better. "We will expand our scouting network this summer, so we are in very good shape as far as that is concerned."
