Fabregas happy to stay
24 Apr 2007 - 12:51:18
Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas says he is more than happy to stay with the Gunners, as long as Arsene Wenger remains in charge at the Emirates Stadium.
Fabregas has gone from strength to strength since his arrival in England in the summer of 2003 and is on a long-term contract with the Gunners, which he is happy to honour.
He told the Spanish media: "One of the reasons why I am at Arsenal is Arsene Wenger. He has said that he is going to fulfill his contract and I trust his word.
"I would like to return to Spanish football one day, but before that I must finish my time in England. Now, my plans are to stay in London.
"I am very happy here. I am enjoying playing football. We have not had good results this season, but we have played well."
Former Barcelona youngster Fabregas has been linked with a return to his homeland to join either his former club or Real Madrid.
Spain international Fabregas has scored 13 goals in 150 appearances for Arsenal to date.
