Fabregas: I've nothing to hide
19 Mar 2009 - 09:25:41
Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas has once again insisted he did not spit at Hull City's assistant manager Brian Horton after the FA Cup sixth-round meeting of the two sides at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday.
The Spaniard issued a statement after the Gunners' 2-1 win denying the accusations, since when the Football Association has launched an investigation into the matter.
Fabregas is happy with the FA's involvement though, insisting he has nothing to hide.
He was quoted in The Sun as saying: "I will leave it in the FA's hands for the time being - I will wait to see what they say.
"I've absolutely nothing to hide and nothing to be ashamed of. The simple fact is I did not spit at the assistant manager of Hull City."
Fabregas was accused of spitting at Michael Ballack during Arsenal's Champions League encounter with Bayern Munich in 2005, but the midfielder added: "I remember the incident clearly.
"It was four years ago and I leant over and shouted at him. I did not spit at him."
