Fabregas: Spain all about style

Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas claims Spanish fans would jeer if their national team adopted the philosophies of England.[LNB] Spain have always been synonymous with free-flowing football, with their game based more on technical ideals than physical prowess.[LNB]Sticking by that approach has paid significant dividends over recent years, with the European Championship and World Cup crowns locked safely in the trophy cabinet.[LNB]Their success stands in stark contrast to that of England, who continue to place too much emphasis on hard work and endless energy.[LNB]Fabregas believes that style can only get you so far and admits that Spain would become the victims of terrace abuse were they to follow the Three Lions' lead.[LNB]He told the Daily Telegraph: "The way we play is the most important. It's about how you do it. You will never play the ball longer or do some things you are not used to.[LNB]"We want to win playing football. If it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen but we want to be the best this way. We did it last summer and we want to keep doing it." [LNB]Fabregas added: "Here in England it is passion and the fans love it when there are hard tackles and you play long balls and counter-attack. [LNB]"If you do that in Spain they will boo you.[LNB]"They are used to another kind of football. Here [in England] if you play good football, good football, good football and you don't win then they can boo you for the opposite. You have to believe in your style and go for it." [LNB]Fabregas is hoping Spain will be offered the opportunity to strut their stuff on home soil once the destination of the 2018 World Cup is decided.[LNB]A joint-bid with neighbours Portugal is vying for hosting rights, alongside England, and the Gunners skipper believes the two countries are ideally suited to staging football's showpiece event.[LNB]Fabregas told Sky Sports News: "You have some of the most beautiful stadiums in the world, you have the most amazing and fanatical football fans, you have the perfect weather, you have airports, and you have great hotels.[LNB]"The atmosphere will be fantastic. All you can do is enjoy yourself. We have everything you could ever ask for to have a great World Cup. The fans would enjoy it."
