Emmanuel Adebayor and Alexandre Song's friendship has 'cooled' since Man City move

The Cameroonian, who regarded Adebayor as a "brotherly figure", insists he made numerous efforts to maintain the pair's friendship after the deal between Arsenal and City was completed, but having been met with little response from the striker, he now claims the relationship has cooled. [LNB]Following last weekend's eventful tie between the two sides, Song has also reacted angrily to comments made by former teammate Kolo Toure that not a single Arsenal player approached Adebayor to shake hands after the final whistle. He's talking nonsense," Song said. "Ade was a 'big brother'. In London, I was almost living at his place, and he at mine. [LNB]"Once he went to City, it's true that our relationship was not what it had been before. I called him two or three times, and he didn't call me back. [LNB]"I'm not going to force him to do it. And I'm not going to have a laugh with him when I see him in the tunnel. [Last weekend] he disappointed me because the person I knew was not the person I met that day." [LNB]Adebayor has courted countless column inches since meeting his former club at the Eastlands and has been blasted by the likes of Robin van Persie, Cesc Fabregas and Arsene Wenger for making a number of heavy tackles they believe warranted a red card. [LNB]But according to Song, the aforementioned two were not the only players subjected to the 25-year-old's aggressive nature. [LNB]"Afterwards, on the pitch, he started to kick. He kicked everyone," said Song. "That's not normal! He was aggressive. There was a free-kick in their favour and he slapped me. Coming from him - I couldn't believe it." [LNB]Struggling to find an explanation behind the hostility, he added: "Nobody doubts what Ade and Kolo have done for Arsenal. To say that the Gunners were not grateful to them, that's rubbish. [LNB]"I am surprised - nobody said anything bad about them, not the manager, not the players. Their reaction is abnormal. Kolo always was a leader on the pitch. He was always pushing us, all the time. [LNB]"I saw Adebayor at the end of the game and I talked to him. Calmly. The best answer for him would've been to do nothing. [LNB]"It'd have been more beautiful if he hadn't expressed his joy at scoring that way. I told him it was a really silly thing to do, really stupid." [LNB]
