Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger does not believe it will not be long before Eduardo is able to return to action.
The 25-year-old Croatia international striker has been sidelined since suffering a broken leg in the dramatic 2-2 draw against Birmingham City in February.
"As soon as possible, he will play now," said Wenger. "He is joining in full training matches, but he needs games now."
Wenger has also revealed that former captain William Gallas is unlikely to feature against Wigan Athletic this weekend because of a calf injury.
He added: "We certainly lose Gallas for Saturday, but we have Mikael Silvestre, who will be available.
"We have Kolo Toure available again and he is more suited to playing on the right side (of central defence). We will see on Saturday how well he is.
"(Emmanuel) Eboue could be back in the group and Abdou Diaby could be available from next week onwards. (Johan) Djourou is fine."
Theo Walcott (shoulder) and Tomas Rosicky (hamstring) remain on the sidelines.
