Eduardo out of hospital
27 Feb 2008 - 16:05:58
Arsenal striker Eduardo da Silva has left hospital just four days after suffering a horrific broken leg and dislocated ankle injury.
The Croatia striker fractured his left fibula and sustained an open dislocation of his ankle joint during Saturday's 2-2 draw with Birmingham City at St Andrew's.
The Gunners expect the 25-year-old to be out of action for at least nine months but, after spending four nights in a London hospital, he has now been allowed to return home.
Eduardo, who will therefore miss this summer's European Championship Finals, will have his leg in plaster for the next six to eight weeks before beginning a rehabilitation programme.
"The club can confirm that Eduardo has now been released from hospital, where he had been since sustaining his injury against Birmingham City," read an Arsenal statement.
"Eduardo would like to once again thank everyone for the overwhelming messages of support he has received."
