Eduardo set for Arsenal return against West Ham

All three were short-term absentees for the Champions League tie at AZ Alkmaar on Tuesday, but only Eduardo is certain to be available to face West Ham. Lukasz Fabianski (knee) and Samir Nasri (broken leg) both made comebacks in the reserves on Tuesday night, although Wenger would be cautious about involving them on Sunday and they are more likely to return for the first-team next Wednesday in the Carling Cup. “It is possible [they will be included],” said Wenger. “But it depends on our needs. Ideally Nasri will need the game against Liverpool to be completely part of the squad again. So it depends on the urgency.” Of the longer-term injuries, Wenger added: “Denilson should be available in four weeks and Johan Djourou will be March.” Wenger also admitted that he had sympathy for the current situation of West Ham's Gianfranco Zola who, after an encouraging start to his managerial career last season, is now under scrutiny with his team second from bottom of the league. “I have a big deal of sympathy for him until Sunday,” said Wenger. “Of course they have lost players, like many teams that have to cut expenses and it becomes more difficult. I believe no matter what kind of players you have it is important to be positive, that is the best way to be successful and that is what he has tried to do. There is a long way to go.”
