Arsenal striker Eduardo has been forced to pull out of the Croatia squad for the friendly against Qatar. The 26-year-old aggravated a thigh muscle in the Gunners' 2-0 win over Olympiakos in the UEFA Champions League earlier in the week. Certain to miss out against Qatar, Brazilian-born Eduardo will be hoping to return in time for the World Cup qualifier in Kazakhstan four days later. Nikica Jelavic has been called up to the squad as a likely replacement following a string of impressive performances for Rapid Vienna. "Because of a thigh muscle injury, Croatian national team player Eduardo da Silva is most likely not able to play in the upcoming matches against Qatar and Kazakhstan," read a statement on the federation's official site. "The good news is that Eduardo will still come to the camp to finish his rehabilitation process with the medical staff in case he can show there might be a chance to play in Astana, on October 14."
