Time to shine: Eduardo is ready to fill Robin van Persie's boots as Arsenal's main striker[LNB]Arsenal striker Eduardo has revealed he is fit and ready to take the responsibility of replacing injured star striker Robin van Persie.[LNB]The Dutchman faces at least six weeks on the sidelines after damaging ankle ligaments while in action for his country, a serious setback for a side who were flourishing with Van Persie at the apex of a 4-3-3 system. [LNB]The setback has has opened the door for Eduardo, a player who knows what it feels like to spend long spells on the treatment table himself. Since arriving for £7.5million in July 2007, the 26-year-old hasstarted just 30 games due chiefly to a horrific leg break sufferedagainst Birmingham 21 months ago.[LNB]But the Croatia hotshot is now ready to repay the faith shown in him by manager Arsene Wenger during his long periods out of action. [LNB]Eduardo said: 'I'm feeling good. At the beginning of the season I had a few injury niggles but I am OK now and ready to help the team rise to the top of the table, as well as progress in the Champions League.'[LNB] Agony: Van Persie is expected to be out of action for at least six weeks[LNB]'We are doing very well at the moment and I hope we can produce a big surprise this year. [LNB]'The boss knows our qualities and how they can fit into a formation. For me it is fine to play on the left or the right, no problem, the most important thing is to help the team and I feel good in those positions. [LNB]'It is a formation that gives us more movement and more creativity through the middle, although it is not easy because we have to balance defence and attack and that can be difficult.'[LNB] Julio 'The Beast' Baptista's agent savages Spurs New Year switch rumoursQuackers!
