Eduardo given two-match ban

Uefa has handed Arsenal striker Eduardo a two-match ban for "for deceiving the referee" in the UEFA Champions League. The charge follows a penalty won by Eduardo during the Gunners' 3-1 Champions League second-leg play-off victory over Celtic last week. Eduardo has come in for heavy criticism since the incident after claims that he conned referee Manuel Gonzalez. Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has since strongly stated that Eduardo should not be banned for the alleged dive. The French coach has three working days to appeal against the decision. Should the ban stand, Eduardo will miss Arsenal's Champions League group matches away at Standard Liege and the home match with Olympiacos.
