Djourou making up for lost time

Arsenal defender Johan Djourou insists Gunners fans can now see the best of him after recovering from his injury horror show.[LNB] The Swiss defender has endured a miserable 12 months on the sidelines with a knee injury but is now fully fit and raring to go for the Gunners.[LNB]The current defensive injury crisis at the Emirates has allowed Djourou to get back into the thick of the action, completing his first 90 minutes in the Premier League in almost 18 months against Birmingham last weekend.[LNB]And with Thomas Vermaelen and Laurent Koscielny both on the treatment table, the 23-year-old is keen to continue playing in the heart of Arsenal's defence.[LNB]"I have been unlucky with injuries but I am hoping that is behind me now," Djourou told the Gazette on the back of featuring in Tuesday's 5-1 win over Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League. [LNB]"I have had a lot of little problems and then the big problem with the knee last year, but now I am fit and can hopefully stay fit.[LNB]"I knew that I had to have that operation on my knee and I knew that it was going to take a lot of time. I wanted to come back and come back stronger, sometimes it takes a long time."
