Denilson set for long lay-off
28 Sep 2009 - 14:23:10
Arsenal midfielder Denilson has been ruled out for two months with a back injury.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has revealed that the 21-year-old Brazilian is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines after suffering a "small fracture" to his back.
Denilson picked up the problem during the 4-2 Premier League defeat at Manchester City on September 12.
Meanwhile, Wenger has also revealed that Nicklas Bendtner will miss Tuesday Champions League match against Olympiacos.
The Denmark striker was involved in a minor car crash on Sunday morning.
"Fortunately there was no real long-term damage, but he was bruised and we thought it better he did not train (on Monday)," revealed Wenger.
"He should be back for Sunday's game (against Blackburn Rovers)."
Bendtner joins Theo Walcott (back), goalkeeper Manuel Almunia (virus), Samir Nasri (leg), Lukasz Fabianski (knee) and Johan Djourou (knee) on the sidelines.
