David Dein on board for England World Cup 2018 bid

Dein, who has been in talks with the bid for more than a year, will have the title England 2018-2022 International President. During his time at Arsenal he was active on the European and world stage and will attempt to bring those contacts to the bid.[LNB]His omission from the original bid team has been acknowledged as a mistake, and the post offers Dein the opportunity to return to the political stage in a high-profile position.[LNB]The reaction of the Premier League will be instructive. Dein and league chairman Sir Dave Richards do not enjoy a good relationship, but Richards's resignation from the bid board has reduced his influence over the campaign. Richard Scudamore is not thought to share his reservations.[LNB]
