Danny Rose targets Chelsea win after new Tottenham hero's wonder strike ruins Arsenal's title dream

Tottenham hero Danny Rose has set his sights on ruining Chelsea's Premier League title bid after ending Arsenal's own hopes with his 35-yard wonder strike at White Hart Lane. Rose, in his first league start for Spurs, capitalised on Manuel Almunia's weak punch to volley Tottenham in front in stunning fashion on Wednesday night, before Gareth Bale added a second as Arsenal suffered a first north London derby defeat in 11 years. Spurs are now hot on the heels of fourth-placed Manchester City while the Gunners are six points behind leaders Chelsea. But with the Blues travelling to White Hart Lane on Saturday, Rose, 19, has targeted his next victims.  Instant impact: Danny Rose celebrates his incredible goal against Arsenal He said: 'Beating Arsenal proves that we can beat Chelsea. We have come on leaps and bounds this season and have been more consistent away from home as well. 'It's the first time we have beaten Arsenal in 11 years and we have shown we can beat anyone at home. 'We needed to win to put a bit of pressure on Manchester City. They have got a hard game at the weekend against United and so have we. 'I know a lot of people wrote us off with the tough matches we had coming up so it was important to get three points against Arsenal.' Unstoppable: Danny Rose's shot flies past Gunners' goalkeeper Manuel Almunia... Rose's superb strike will live long in the memory of many a Spurs supporter, but those hoping that the youngster will produce such feats on a regular basis may be disappointed, with Rose admitting he had never before managed such a brilliant strike. 'I don't think I have ever hit a better shot than that in my life,' he added. 'I was going to bring it down at first and then at the last minute I just thought I would hit it. I caught it sweetly and it has gone in. ... and slams into the back of the net to give Tottenham the lead 'I was very nervous but the lads helped me out massively before the kick-off. Coaches Les Ferdinand and Tim Sherwood both came up to me and told me not to worry about anything and do what I do in training. 'The atmosphere in the dressing room was unbelievable after the game. Everyone was jumping on Heurelho Gomes. He made three world-class saves and everyone was buzzing.'  Danny who? Sportsmail uncovers Tottenham's rookie hero RoseVIDEO SPECIAL: White lightning!
