City eye move for Hleb as Villa wait in wings for former Arsenal midfielder

Loan ranger: Alexander Hleb (left) in action for Stuttgart against Barcelona, his permanent club Alexander Hleb could be set for a return to the Premier League, with Manchester City lining up a move for the former Arsenal midfielder. The Belarus international is currently in his second spell at German club Stuttgart, where he is on loan from Barcelona, but has indicated that he is unwilling to sign for the Bundesliga side on a permanent basis. Hleb, 28, has fallen out with Stuttgart boss Christian Gross after a row over substitutions made by the former Tottenham manager. The technically gifted winger has a contract at the Nou Camp until 2012 but has rarely featured for the Catalan giants since his signing from the Gunners in 2008. But Hleb's spell in England was impressive enough to have earned the interest of City. Respected French newspaper L'Equipe say the Eastlands club could offer him a four-year contract.   They may face competition however, with Aston Villa also said to be monitoring the player.  City line up £11m bid for Hamburg's Boateng and Osasuna's AzpilicuetaCraig Bellamy probe: Manchester City striker at the centre of Everton spatMan behaving badly: Pressures of managing Man City have got to ManciniMANCHESTER CITY FC
