England's 2018 World Cup bid team, who have been talking to former Arsenal and FA vice-chairman David Dein for six months about taking aglobal role in the campaign, finally announced his appointment asinternational president yesterday.[LNB]Half a year of what could have been official campaigning by Dein by far the best and most enthusiastic football networker in thecountry, boasting close relationships with members of the voting FIFAexecutive committee has been wasted.[LNB]Global role: Dein[LNB]But better late than never and Dein has still been supporting theEngland campaign on his travels.
