The line-up for the last 16 of the Champions League is now complete, with holders Barcelona among seven former winners through to the knock-out stages.
Here Press Association Sport takes a look at the teams in the hat for Monday's draw in Nyon:
ARSENAL
Best previous performance: Runners-up (2006)
Manager: Arsene Wenger
Key player: Alexis Sanchez
Odds (to win tournament): 20/1
Arsenal squeezed into the last 16 as runners-up in Group F despite losing three of their opening four matches. A 2-0 home victory over mighty Bayern Munich showed what the Gunners are capable of as they look to claim a first European Cup crown.
ATLETICO MADRID
Best previous performance: Runners-up (1974, 2014)
Manager: Diego Simeone
Key player: Antoine Griezmann
Odds: 16/1
Sealed top spot in Group C with four wins from six games and they will be hoping to avoid city rivals Real for as long as possible, having been beaten by Los Merengues in the 2014 final and again in last season's quarter-finals.
BARCELONA
Best previous performance: Winners (1992, 2006, 2009, 2011, 2015)
Manager: Luis Enrique
Key player: Lionel Messi
Odds: 9/4 (favourites)
Finished a massive eight points clear of second-placed Roma as they cruised through Group E, ending as one of only two unbeaten sides (along with Real Madrid). Having beaten Juventus in last season's final, Barcelona are now looking to become the first club to win back-to-back titles in the Champions League era.
BAYERN MUNICH
Best previous performance: Winners (1974, 1975, 1976, 2001, 2013)
Manager: Pep Guardiola
Key player: Robert Lewandowski
Odds: 11/4
Five wins from six saw Bayern comfortably win Group F and they went through as the joint leading goalscorers with 19 goals (level with Real Madrid). Will be aiming to go further than last season, where they lost 5-3 on aggregate to Barcelona in the semi-finals.
BENFICA
Best previous performance: Winners (1961, 1962)
Manager: Rui Vitoria
Key player: Nicolas Gaitan
Odds: 150/1
Finished runners-up to Atletico in Group C as they reached the knock-out stages for only the second time in eight tries. The Portuguese giants have impressed elsewhere in European competition in recent years though, reaching the final of the Europa League in both 2013 and 2014.
CHELSEA
Best previous performance: Winners (2012)
Manager: Jose Mourinho
Key player: Willian
Odds: 16/1
Victory in their final match over Porto saw Premier League champions Chelsea claim top spot in Group G. Manager Jose Mourinho is looking to become the first coach to win the tournament with three different clubs, having previously tasted success with Porto and Inter Milan.
DYNAMO KIEV
Best previous performance: Semi-finals
Manager: Sergei Rebrov
Key player: Andriy Yarmolenko
Odds: 100/1
Pipped Porto to runners-up spot in Group G in the final round of fixtures. Dynamo are in the knockout phase for the first time in 15 years as they brought to an end a tournament-record 10 successive group-stage exits.
GENT
Best previous performance: Third qualifying round
Manager: Hein Vanhaezebrouck
Key player: Danijel Milicevic
Odds: 300/1
Surprise qualifiers behind Zenit St Petersburg in Group H, finishing above Valencia and Lyon. Gent, who won their maiden Belgian title last season after a 115-year wait, had already made club history just by reaching the group stages. Had the worst disciplinary record in the group stages with two red cards, 14 yellows and 100 fouls committed.
JUVENTUS
Best previous performance: Winners (1985, 1996)
Manager: Massimiliano Allegri
Key player: Paul Pogba
Odds: 33/1
Had to settle for runners-up berth in Group D after losing their final match to Sevilla. Four-time reigning Serie A champions Juventus were the lowest-scorers of any qualifying side with only six goals, but they were similarly as thrifty at the other end with only one team conceding less goals than their tally of three.
MANCHESTER CITY
Best previous performance: Last 16.
Manager: Manuel Pellegrini
Key player: Sergio Aguero
Odds: 12/1
Manchester City pipped Juve to first place in a formidable-looking Group D that also included two-time reigning Europa League winners Sevilla as well as Borussia Monchengladbach. That was the first time City have finished top in the group stages and now they will look to reach the quarter-finals for the first time.
PARIS ST GERMAIN
Best previous performance: Semi-finals
Manager: Laurent Blanc
Key player: Zlatan Ibrahimovic
Odds: 12/1
PSG sealed their spot in the knockout stages as runners-up to Real Madrid in Group A. Laurent Blanc's men shipped just one goal in their six matches - equalling the best defensive record in the tournament's history - and now the three-time Ligue 1 champions will be hoping to improve on their quarter-final eliminations of the past three campaigns.
PSV EINDHOVEN
Best previous performance: Winners (1988)
Manager: Phillip Cocu
Key player: Luuk de Jong
Odds: 100/1
Snatched runners-up spot away from Manchester United on the final night of matches in Group B. PSV won all three of their home matches but picked up only one point on their travels, at Old Trafford.
REAL MADRID
Best previous performance: Winners (1956, 1957, 1958, 1959, 1960, 1966, 1998, 2000, 2002, 2014)
Manager: Rafael Benitez
Key player: Cristiano Ronaldo
Odds: 5/1
Stormed into the last 16 as Group A winners with the best record of any side, picking up 16 points from a possible 18, while scoring 19 goals and conceding just three. The competition's all-time record goalscorer Cristiano Ronaldo finished with 11 goals - the first player to reach double figures in the group stages - while Real's 8-0 win over Malmo equalled the biggest win in Champions League history.
ROMA
Best previous performance: Runners-up (1984)
Manager: Rudi Garcia
Key player: Daniele De Rossi
Odds: 80/1
Sneaked through as runners-up to runaway leaders Barcelona in Group E. That was despite the Italian side winning only one game and finishing with a minus-five goal difference. Edged out Bayer Leverkusen on head-to-head record after both sides ended with six points, which is the joint lowest qualifying total in Champions League history.
WOLFSBURG
Best previous performance: Group stages
Manager: Dieter Hecking
Key player: Julian Draxler
Odds: 50/1
Wolfsburg clinched top spot in Group B with four wins from six, including a 3-2 victory over Manchester United in their final match. Their tally of nine goals scored was the lowest of any group winner but it was enough to see the German side into the last 16 of the Champions League for the first time.
ZENIT ST PETERSBURG
Best previous performance: Last 16
Manager: Andre Villas-Boas
Key player: Hulk
Odds: 66/1
Impressive winners of Group H and only a 2-1 defeat to Gent in their final match prevented the Russian side from becoming only the seventh side to finish the group stages with a 100 per cent winning record. Artem Dzyuba's tally of six goals left him third in the group stage scoring ranks, behind Ronaldo (11) and Robert Lewandowski (seven).
