Summer signing Marouane Chamakh scored his first goal for Arsenal in their 4-0 win over SC Neusiedl. The French striker, who joined from Bordeaux, got off the mark six minutes into the second half from the penalty spot after he was brought down. Theo Walcott and Jay Emmanuel-Thomas netted in the space of three minutes to give the Gunners a 2-0 half-time lead while Carlos Vela added a fourth in the 65th minute. Goalkeeper Vito Mannone then preserved his clean sheet with a penalty save two minutes later after Chamakh was penalised for handball.
