Cesc rules out Spain return
12 Jun 2009 - 07:31:50
Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas has ruled out the possibility of following Cristiano Ronaldo and joining Real Madrid in a big-money deal.
The Manchester United and Portugal star is set to complete a world record £80million move to Madrid, but Fabregas insists he has no plans to leave the Gunners and return to Spain.
The former Barcelona youngster is a long-time transfer target of the Spanish giants.
"Of course I see my future at Arsenal. I have a very long contract with the club," Fabregas told Arsenal TV Online before news of the Ronaldo deal broke.
"I would have never signed that if I did not think I was capable of making it.
"The boss knows that I really want to stay here. What you cannot stop is what people say about you. The press can write or say whatever they want.
"Here, I do not get involved at all. Since I am 18, they have been saying that - but I am still here."
