Cesc Fabregas admits he is 'desperate' to play in the World Cup final, but understands if he is left out of the Spain team to face Holland.[LNB] Arsenal captain Fabregas has yet to start a match in South Africa, with the likes of Xabi Alonso and Sergio Busquets keeping the midfielder out of the team.[LNB]Fabregas concedes it 'hurts' not to be in Vicente del Bosque's starting line-up ahead of Spain's bid to add the world crown to the European Championship success of two years ago.[LNB]Del Bosque is unlikely to tinker with a winning formula for Sunday's showdown with the Oranje, but Fabregas is eager to at least play some part in Johannesburg.[LNB]"I'm so proud Spain is in the World Cup final, but it means nothing if we don't win it," Fabregas told The Sun.[LNB]"I am desperate to play at least some part in tomorrow's game. [LNB]"What player on the planet wouldn't be? It's everything we dream of from the moment we start kicking a ball to the moment we learn all about the world's greatest football tournament. [LNB]"I can't deny it has hurt not to be in Spain's starting line-ups throughout this tournament. But I only have to look at our incredible players - and especially our midfielders - to realise I'm so honoured to be part of this magnificent Spanish side. [LNB]"Of course I believe I can play a part in making history for our country, which has never won a World Cup before. [LNB]"If I'm lucky enough to get a start, I will give everything I have. But if I have to start on the bench, then so be it. All I can pray for is that I get a chance to play some part of this unbelievable game. [LNB]"If I'm not in the team, I will know deep down that Spain winning the World Cup is more important than Cesc Fabregas starting the game or not. [LNB]"So I will still be 100 per cent behind the boys who do go out there. And I will be thinking about what I will do, what I must do if I come on. [LNB]"To just be a part of a World Cup final would be beyond belief, the stuff of dreams. That's why I just can't wait for tomorrow."
