Celtic tie is biggest of the season for Wenger boys, warns former Arsenal icon

Former Arsenal favourite Charlie Nicholas fears the club could face a supporter backlash if Arsene Wenger's side crash out of the Champions League to Celtic. Nicholas started his career at Parkhead before joining the Gunners in 1983 where he spent five years in north London before departing back to Scotland in 1988. But the former striker turned TV pundit insists manager Arsene Wenger must guide his side past a difficult play-off hurdle, warning elite European football is a minimum requirement for ever-expectant Emirates fans. 'It might sound ridiculous to say that Arsenal's second game of the new campaign is their biggest of the season, but it's a fact,' he said. 'If Arsenal were to lose this tie, the fans would be very negative with the financial burdens and lack of top, top football.
