Cash-strapped Barcelona refuse to meet Arsenal's £60m price tag for wantaway Cesc Fabregas

New Barcelona president Sandro Rosell insists he won't pay anywhere near the £60million asking price floated for Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas.[LNB]Rosell stunned listeners in a radio interview this morning by revealing the club were seeking a £125m loan to cover 'short-term liquidity' problems.[LNB]He also revealed that the club has sold Dmytro Chygrynskiy back to Shakhtar Donetsk for £12.5m to ease the situation  - marking a near-£10m hit on the Ukraine defender just 12 months after his arrival.[LNB] Trapped: Barcelona will not pay Arsenal's £60million price tag for Cesc Fabregas (right)[LNB]Barca remain keen to sign Fabregas but are set to increase their opening £29m offer by just £4m - well short of a figure that would spark interest in north London - and Rosell they would not be prepared to reach even £40m.[LNB]Rosell is clearly unhappy at how the previous Barca hierarchy, led by Joan Laporta, have angered Arsenal by conducting negotiations through the press.[LNB]'This has been broadcast here, there and everywhere, and that's the worst thing that could have happened,' said Rosell of the Fabregas pursuit.[LNB]'For example, Chygrynskiy's transfer has just come out but we've been negotiating it for five days. Fabregas has reiterated his desire to return to Barcelona[LNB]'Everyone knows he wants to come here and that we want him - imagine what he'll find back at Arsenal!'[LNB]Fabregas has told Wenger he wants to return to the club where he camethrough the ranks, but his route back to Catalonia looks increasingly difficult and Arsenal won't let him go cheaply.[LNB]Rosell has a good relationship with the player's family and was photographed talking to Fabregas's mum and sisters at the MotoGP meeting in Catalonia at the weekend.[LNB]The former Nike executive is expected to fly to South Africa on Friday for the end of the World Cup and Barcelona newspaper Sport say he is planning to talk to Wenger as well as Fabregas.[LNB]Barca have already sold Yaya Toure to Manchester City for £24m and are prepared to let Thierry Henry leave for nothing to get him off the payroll.[LNB]They will also listen to offers for Alexander Hleb, Martin Caceras, Rafael Marquez, Henrique and Keirrison, but Rosell indicated he expected Sweden striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic to stay.[LNB]The Spanish champions are expected to confirm a new two-year contract for coach Pep Guardiola in the next few days. Bad news Arsenal...
