Arsenal could not have delivered a more pointed message to Chelsea and Manchester City than the one relayed by chief executive Ivan Gazidis.[LNB]With Chelsea visiting The Emirates today and a Carling Cup visit to Manchester City on Wednesday, Gazidis has taken the opportunity to remind the two clubs ofthe chasm in footballing philosophies which separates them.[LNB]'Success that is built is more significant, more meaningful and ultimately more important than success that's bought,' said Gazidis. 'That's what we are trying to achieve at Arsenal.[LNB] Style money can't buy: Arsenal stars Denilson, Emmanuel Eboue and Samir Nasri[LNB]'It is not easy, it's difficult and it's very competitive out there but we're trying to build something: players who have a connection with the club and the fans, who have been together as a group and grown up as a group.[LNB]'And when success comes, when that trophy comes and when that victory comes, it will mean something to our fans and something very special to that group of players.'[LNB]While Chelsea and Manchester City rely on Roman Abramovich and Sheik Mansour to underwrite their transfer spending and debts, Arsenal have explicitly refused the help of foreign owners, such as Alisher Usmanov, preferring only to spend what they earn.[LNB]But though Gazidis will not confirm that Arsene Wenger's transfer fund now stands at £40million, he did add: 'We have funds if we wish to invest. If we can find special players that can add something to that group, then I'm sure Arsene Wenger will do that.'
