Roma have joined the race to sign West Ham United wide man Valon Behrami.
Reports in Italy suggest the 25-year-old former Lazio player is keen on a return to the 'Eternal City', but the two clubs are thought to be some way apart in how they value Behrami.
West Ham are prepared to listen to bids for the Switzerland international, which has also alerted Palermo, and a £8.5million fee has been mooted.
However, Roma are reluctant to even match the £5m that the Hammers paid Genoa for Behrami five years ago and the Serie A side would rather take him on an initial loan.
Keeping up appearances: Doni trains with the Brazil squad in South Africa
A compromise could be to offer Brazil goalkeeper Doni in part-exchange. The 30-year-old has fallen out of favour at the Olympic Stadium and has previously been offered to Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham.
However, the West Ham hierarchy's hopes of selling off current No 1 Robert Green for a bumper fee have been hit by the England international's World Cup to forget.
