Arsenal are set to fight it out with rivals Liverpool for Lyon's star striker Alexandre Lacazette, with the French international revealing his desire to play abroad.

The striker has been scouted various times this season with the 23-year-old looking hugely impressive, netting 19 goals in 20 appearances so far for Lyon in all competitions this season.

English giants Arsenal and Liverpool have both been strongly linked with a move for Lacazette, who Lyon value at around £15million. Premier League champions Manchester City were thought to be interested but are now likely out of the running after moving for Swansea's £30million rated Wilfried Bony.

In an interview with Yahoo Sport France Lacazette revealed that he would be open to a move to the Premier League, despite supporting Spanish giants Barcelona as a youngster.

“Between England and Spain, I don’t have a preference," he said.

"I dreamt about Barca when I was little, but once you grow up you know you cannot be on just one club.

"I will not be leaving for the sake of it, I have medium and long term aims, after that we will see what is best for me."

The in demand striker also talked about the possibility of playing for Ligue 1 Champions Paris Saint-Germain, but revealed although he could see himself with PSG's all stars, he would rather take the plunge and move abroad.

"PSG? We will see, it is hard the answer that now," he said.

"To play with (Zlatan) Ibrahimovic and Lucas (Moura), I cannot say that I cannot see myself in this attack but it would more likely be a departure abroad. Afterwards, you never know what might happen.”
