Blackburn want £12m for Chris Samba

Blackburn are set to demand ?12 million for Chris Samba, in an attempt to keep him at Ewood Park.

Samba is known to be keen on joining a bigger club, and north London giants Arsenal and Tottenham are both keen on the player.

Spurs are prepared to offer ?6m plus at least one player.

Rovers want a deal involving straight cash however, and double the amount Spurs are currently prepared to pay, according to the Star.

Venky's, the Indian owners of Blackburn, badly want to keep Samba, particularly with fellow defender Phil Jones already having departed to Manchester United.

Samba put in a transfer request last winter, following the sacking of Sam Allardyce and arrival of new manager Steve Kean, He later withdrew the request.
