Better news for Bendtner
05 Jan 2010 - 10:15:10
Striker Nicklas Bendtner hopes to provide Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger with a timely boost by returning to training this week.
Bendtner, 21, has been sidelined since October with a hernia problem which required surgery.
His lay-off has coincided with another injury to fellow frontman Robin van Persie, who could miss the rest of the campaign with damaged ankle ligaments.
However, Bendtner has revealed he is poised to resume training and could be back in first-team action within two weeks.
"Tomorrow (Tuesday) I hope to start training with the ball and the fun will begin," said the Denmark international.
"I hope to be able to make my comeback against Bolton on January 17, the day after my birthday.
"That would be the best gift I could give myself. At least it is my personal goal, so now we will see."
