// A bit of a hack but it works// The article snippet is wrapped onto a second line, even when #article-sub is emptyif( $("div#article-sub").children().length == 0 ) {$("div#article-sub").remove();} Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner has spoken with his manager Arsene Wenger about a desire to play a more central role, having been employed down the flanks this season.[LNB] Wenger has primarily used a 4-3-3 system this season with Robin van Persie his preferred choice as the main striker.[LNB]Bendtner has usually been pushed wide when selected to accommodate his team-mate, but the Dane feels he is best used as a central striker.[LNB]A recent goal in the UEFA Champions League against Standard Liege showed Bendtner's ability when used as a centre forward and the player hopes his manager is taking note. [LNB]"I think it is a short-term decision," Bendtner said. "I have spoken to the manager, obviously, and he explained why he's playing me there at the moment.[LNB]"He knows as well though that my position is to play up front as a striker. That's where I prefer personally, but if I have to do a job for the team and play on the right or the left sometimes then I'm happy to do that as well."[LNB]Bendtner, whose goal against Liege sparked Arsenal's comeback from 2-0 down, added: "I like to think that the reason I scored against Standard Liege has something to do with the fact I played more centrally.[LNB]"Obviously you are closer to the goal and because of my pace I can make those runs. You can use that more up front than you can on the right."[LNB]
