Barcelona line up £10m Denilson bid as Arsenal team-mate Cesc Fabregas will cost too much

Barcelona are considering a £10million move for Arsenal midfielder Denilson after conceding Cesc Fabregas' price tag could once again spiral beyond their means. [LNB]The Catalans, armed with £140m sponsorship from Qatar, will make another attempt to prise Fabregas from the Emirates Stadium at the end of the season. [LNB]But the Spanish champions' sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta has been compiling a list of more affordable targets, with Denilson a surprise name at the forefront of his thinking - according to Barcelona-based newspaper Sport. [LNB] Steady: Brazilian Denilson does the simple things in the Arsenal midfield and has caught Barcelona's eye[LNB]It is well known that Barca have long been tracking the Brazilian and they believe he could be up for grabs because of Jack Wilshere's emergence with the Gunners. [LNB]Denilson is seen as much more than just a holding midfielder, with Zubizarreta telling colleagues that the 22-year-old never seems to give the ball away. [LNB]After Friday's Champions League draw, Denilson addressed interest from Wolfsburg, which simultaneously put Barca on alert. [LNB]He said: 'I have a lot of feeling for Arsenal and I've been here since 2006. The thought of breathing new air - as I'm still very young - can't be ruled out, but nothing is concrete.' [LNB]In the context of facing Barcelona in the Champions League last 16, he described Barca as the best team in the world. [LNB] Barca boy: Fabregas (centre) left the Nou Camp as a teenager and the Catalan giants are keen for him to return[LNB]Denilson has struggled to find his place in Arsene Wenger's midfield this season. Alex Song has established himself as the Frenchman's preferred holding midfielder, while Wilshere, Fabregas and fit-again Tomas Rosicky appear to be ahead in the pecking order for more advanced positions. [LNB]Barcelona were forced to retreat from a public bid for Fabregas last summer when a £29m offer proved woefully inadequate. [LNB]While he is still high on their wish list, Wenger still has the authority to resist a renewed bid. [LNB]While the Qatar Foundation shirt sponsorship deal is worth a record-breaking £25m-a-year, plus an extra £15m over the five-year agreement, it cannot disguise that Barca lost £64m last year and have debts of £370m. [LNB] Middle men: Song (left) and England starlet Wilshere have been playing under Gunners manager Wenger[LNB]Denilson, who joined Arsenal in a £3.4m move from Sao Paulo in 2006, has started just three Barclays Premier League games this season, which is a step back after taking part in more than half the Gunners' matches last season. [LNB]However, he is likely to face an even more daunting prospect breaking into the Barca team. [LNB]Sergio Busquets is about to sign a new contract and is already keeping former Liverpool midfielder Javier Mascherano out of the side, while Xavi and Andres Iniesta are untouchable. [LNB]Under pressure Steve McClaren is also keen on taking Denilson to Wolfsburg to help break a seven-game winless run and is likely to give him a more prominent role.  [LNB] We're scared!
