Barca sights still set on Fabregas

Barcelona have appointed former goalkeeper Andoni Zubizarreta as their new sporting director - and his top priority this summer will be signing Cesc Fabregas. Zubizarreta made over 300 appearances for Barca between 1986 and 1994 and also played 126 times for Spain in an illustrious career. The 48 year-old remains a popular figure at Barcelona and will take over from fellow Basque Txiki Begiristian, who stepped down earlier this week. And one of his chief goals will be to bring Arsenal midfielder Fabregas to the Nou Camp. "Our objective is for him to become a Barcelona player this summer," vice president Josep Maria Bartomeu said at a press conference.
